It's great that you're interested in taking a little trip to the extensive ‘Land of Discovery’.
The "Baselbiet", as the canton is affectionately known, is far more distinctive and diverse than you might imagine. A wonderful Jura landscape with "hills and valleys", around 80 castles, palaces, and ruins, as well as an innovative fruit-growing and wine-producing area with fine regional products. Varied and year-round hiking and cycling/mountain biking routes, the largest archaeological park in Switzerland, and warm hosts await you.
