Castles and Palaces in Baselland
Hardly any other region in Switzerland has such a high density of castles as Baselland. Around 80 castles, palaces and ruins can be found on the hilltops, rocky outcrops, slopes, and valleys. These numerous castles, as witnesses of bygone times, are not only exciting for archaeologists, knight enthusiasts, and history buffs but are also perfect hiking destinations.
