Beyond the limits of the visible, entire worlds open up within the human body.
Martin Oeggerli explores them as both a scientist and an artist. His large-format images reveal structures that we have always carried within us but have never seen before. Through meticulous coloring, precise composition, and extreme magnification, Oeggerli transforms scientific images into striking works of art. Tiny components appear monumental, luminous, and alien, as if they came from another planet. In this way, he opens up new perspectives on the hidden landscapes of life. The exhibition showcases Oeggerli’s ongoing exploration of the human body, as well as the microorganisms and biological processes that surround us, permeate us, and keep us alive. They colonize our skin, inhabit our intestines, circulate through our blood, and shape every one of our perceptions and all of our thoughts.
